Built in 1784 by Reverend Joseph "Parson" Thaxter, First Chaplain of the Revolutionary War and the town's longtime minister, this storied residence has anchored the island's history for more than 2 centuries. Today, it has been meticulously restored and thoughtfully updated to offer a one of a kind Vineyard experience, blending heritage, elegance, and comfort in the heart of downtown.
The sunny and bright first level of the main house includes a large open great room with TV and wood fireplace. A separate enclosed dining room has seating for 8. The kitchen has a vaulted ceiling, stainless appliances, quartz countertops, and a large island with breakfast bar seating for 3.
All 5 bedrooms are ensuite and have gas fireplaces. The primary and another bedroom are located on the 1st floor, and both have doors that lead out to the stone patio. 2 additional bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor and have French doors that lead out to a large deck. A final bedroom is located on the lower level and includes a full kitchen, living and dining area, and a separate private entrance. Perfect for a nanny or additional visitors.
The pool house features a 2nd floor living room with sofa seating, custom stone fireplace, and TV. Doors lead to the deck overlooking the pool. There is also a billiards table, powder room, and a bar area with a wine fridge, sink, microwave, and ice maker. The 1st level has an additional half bathroom and an enclosed outdoor shower.
Outside, a granite stone patio surrounds the heated pool and spa. There are multiple places to sit and relax. There is a built in grill and outdoor fireplace for easy dining and entertaining.
Located just a short stroll from the heart of downtown and all that Edgartown has to offer.

Pool heating fee: $300 per week (covers both pool and spa)
During high season, the pool is heated to 81°F
Renters control the spa: heats to 104°F in ~1 hour auto shut-off after 3 hours
